# Locking DOU
Vote lock DOU tokens in order to participate in gauge weight or governance votes and claim protocol rewards.

1. Navigate to the "Lock DOU" tab at the top of the page.
2\. Enter the quantity of DOU tokens you would like to vote-lock and the duration of the lock from 1-16 weeks. If it is your first time locking DOU, you will have to approve your tokens for use with the contract by pressing the "Approve" button.
3\. After that transaction has confirmed, you can press the "Lock" button to vote-lock your DOU tokens on Double Club.
